Holistic – Small Agency of the Year 2018

By April 4, 2019Uncategorized

The marketing communications industry should always be striving for improvement, delivering excellent service, in our case tailored to serve the built environment sector, and demonstrating the value that great communications can bring to the businesses it serves. That is precisely the purpose of CIMCIG and what is celebrated by the Construction Marketing Awards.

We enter the CMA and other industry awards because we want to test our approach, outcomes and way of working against our peers, both in the built environment and across the communications industry. We also want to make sure that we are constantly improving and running a successful business based on best practice, which benefits clients as well as our team.

We are delighted to have been shortlisted for four and named the winner for two CMAs in 2018, for Small Agency of the Year and Best Professional Services Marketing Campaign for our work with Glenny.  An amazing achievement for the whole team and one we all celebrated together.

Holistic is a niche consultancy, specialising in development, construction and architecture. We represent clients that range from investors and developers to architects and contractors to supporting professional services organisations and industry associations.  We provide a mix of PR, marketing and business development designed to meet their objectives.

How we work is driven by our vision is to be the most sought-after communications consultancy for the built environment. This means that achieving excellence is at the heart of our business. We are always striving to do more, testing new approaches and proving the value of high quality, strategic communications.

Our ability to add value is thanks to a way of working with clients that can only be described as partnership. We invest time to get to the heart of their business so we fully understand their strategic priorities, values and ethos, and advise accordingly. We are embedded in their team and develop lasting relationships, always asking how their business is evolving so we stay fully aligned. One of our clients has been working with us for 13 of our 15 years in business.

We also bring specialist knowledge, not just in communications, but in the built environment, because that’s our sole focus. Everyone at Holistic networks, at all levels of the business, to nurture and develop relationships that improve our network. This brings the added benefit of staying abreast of industry trends, which feeds into our creative process for generating ideas for clients to give them a competitive advantage.

We measure the impact of what we do. We use metrics and regularly ask our clients about the value our work has added. This demonstration of value was behind the success of the Glenny campaign, which was praised by the CMA judges for being “a solid, professional and measurable campaign that was well executed and returned value.”

Having a happy and motivated team is central to our success and the quality of the work we do for clients – their hard work, energy and enthusiasm are central to our vision.

We work to a set of values, all chosen by our team – Magic, Logic and Spirit – which make sure we’re constantly improving our relationships with our clients and each other. They span problem solving and harnessing potential, creativity and imagination, and an inclusive and supportive culture.

We look after our people, with salaries above industry average, a profit share scheme, a dedicated training budget and a comprehensive career development framework with appraisals and opportunities for promotion quarterly. We also provide benefits centered on wellbeing, flexible working for all and access to experts such as a financial advisor and life coach. Our Spirit Group manages all of our socials with ideas coming from across the team, designed to inspire and allow us to spend time socialising together.

Our commitment to those who choose to work at Holistic was noted by the judges of the Small Agency of the Year Award: “A great ethos. The care they take in working with clients and developing staff really stood out and the clients clearly like the results Holistic deliver!”

Holistic is formed of a team that cares passionately about what it does and how it benefits clients. We want to lead our specialist sector and position strategic communications as a powerful and valuable profession that can help businesses thrive. Being recognised for this is an achievement we are immensely proud of.

For those considering entering a Construction Marketing Award, I would say you have nothing to lose and everything to gain. As an industry, we are coming together to celebrate success and excellence in our chosen profession. And we can learn from each other as we do.
